Our Story
Every big vision starts somewhere.
Long before Norah’s Ark became an idea for a mobile shelter, the dream was much bigger.
I’ve always wanted to create a place where animals of every kind could find safety, healing, and a second chance—a self-sustaining sanctuary where no animal would be turned away because of age, disability, illness, or circumstance. A place built not only to rescue animals, but to strengthen the bond between people and the animals they love.
Like many big dreams, though, the question was always:
Where do you begin?
Learning through life’s challenges.
I’ve spent much of my life including animals in everything I do—whether camping, traveling, or simply finding new ways to make life more comfortable for them.
One of those companions was Nuba.

This photo, taken more than fifteen years ago, shows him trying out a portable tent cot while I experimented with simple outdoor shelter ideas. Years later, after suffering a stroke, he learned to use a wheelchair and adapted with remarkable determination.
Nuba isn’t the reason Norah’s Ark exists.
He simply reminded me of something every animal—and every person—will experience at some point in life:
Challenges come in many forms, and sometimes the difference between giving up and moving forward is having the right support.
That lesson never left me.

A moment in Las Vegas that connected every experience into one purpose.
The moment everything came together
Years later, while driving through Las Vegas, I saw an unhoused individual walking through the desert heat while pulling everything they owned in a cart.
Their dog never left their side.
They weren’t asking for luxury.
They weren’t asking for convenience.
They were simply trying to stay together.
In that moment, years of experiences suddenly connected.
The camping ideas.
The shelter concepts.
The lessons animals had already taught me.
The dream of building something bigger.
I realized that maybe the best way to begin wasn’t by building the sanctuary first.
Maybe it was by solving one meaningful problem well.
Why we started here
Norah’s Ark begins with a prototype—a practical, mobile shelter designed to help keep people and their companion animals safe, together, and protected from the elements.
It may seem like a small beginning, but every innovation teaches something.

Every person helped brings us one step closer to something larger.

Our goal is to build a future.
The knowledge gained from designing, testing, and improving these mobile shelter systems will help lay the foundation for something much greater: a self-sustaining animal sanctuary where innovation, compassion, and sustainability come together.
We envision a place where:
- Animals in need can find lifelong care, rehabilitation, and safety.
- People facing hardship can remain with the animals who are often their only family.
- Emergency response teams have better tools to protect both people and pets during disasters.
- Sustainable products help fund rescue efforts, reducing dependence on donations alone.
- Education, engineering, and community partnerships continue creating better solutions for both animals and people.

Build and test the first working prototype. Validate the concept with outreach organizations.

Partner with a local university engineering capstone program. Develop commercial products with proceeds supporting the nonprofit.
- 03Emergency Relief
Adapt the design for disaster response, allowing families to remain with their pets. Pursue grant funding.
- 04Sustainable Rescue Campus
Develop an off-grid animal rescue and rehabilitation campus funded through grants, donations, and product licensing.
